Tonight I had an opportunity to do some more learning with my camera. We had a lovely lightning storm pass by to the west, so I took out my camera to try to get some photographs. Bear in mind that this was between 11pm and midnight.
I learned first of all that it is hard to get a good photo of lightning. You never know where the next one will strike or when. I mean I had a general direction, but the storm was wider that my camera could take in all at once.
So, I tried and experimented and took a whole lot of pictures. And in the end, of the almost 360 photos I took I ended up with 4 that look alright. Most were completely black. But, by the time the storm was pretty much past I was beginning to get the whole taking pictures of lightning thing figured out.
Next time I should be able to get some much better shots.
